Support areas where the need is greatest
Focusing on where the need is greatest supports vital projects across the whole of King George and Queen’s Hospitals. Funding will be directed towards the areas where it is needed most. This includes our wards, specialised clinical units, enhancements to the hospital environment, and facilities for patients, staff, and families.
We have provided and maintained a beautiful garden at Queen's Hospital with seating for anyone who wishes to take a break from the busy hospital environment. The lovely outdoor space is kept looking well replenished thanks to the dedication of our volunteer gardeners.
At Christmas we provide a present to every patient who is in our hospital on the day – making sure that no patients feels alone on Christmas day.
Our sleeper chairs that easily convert into overnight beds. They are now available in our children’s wards, maternity units, and elderly care wards, allowing families to stay close to their loved ones while resting in comfort.
Sleepwell packs support patients who are being disturbed during the night and are unable to sleep. The packs contain an eye mask and ear plugs.
By focusing on improving and refurbishing hospital areas where it is most needed, we are able to create a more comfortable and welcoming environment for all.
Our charity supports divisional teams in creating and running many educational courses. These accredited courses mean our own staff fulfil their mandatory training, but we can also offer places to other healthcare professionals. These courses are always oversubscribed and raise additional funds which can then benefit other areas of the service.
