Caring for children in our hospital means everything to our charity. We want to make the hospital experience as positive and worry free as it can be. Our hospitals have an incredible team of play specialists who provide exceptional care for children. We help them by raising funds for games, toys, and other items that help alleviate anxiety during their time in hospital.
We believe play is essential to help distract children from their illness and treatments. Play therapy can create a more relaxed environment for both the child and the parent.

Due to the pandemic, the children's play area had to be used for essential storage, and it was in need of some TLC. Our charity believes that play is an essential for all children, especially while in hospital. So, we aimed to create a fun and engaging space for children to enjoy while in our hospitals.
The playroom was transformed into an extraordinary under-the-sea themed area, complete with an interactive play system and various wall games. The interactive screen software provides an immersive play experience, featuring numerous educational games that keep children engaged and stimulated. The play system also creates a calming atmosphere by producing soft, ocean-like sounds. Our children have had a blast playing in the room, and it's often a challenge to get them to leave! We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who contributed to this fantastic project. Our hope is that it brings comfort to children during their hospital stay.
We are proud to support our wonderful maternity and neonatal intensive care units (NICU). We provide care to around 8,000 women every year, making our hospitals one of the largest maternity services in the country.
We understand that pregnancy and birth are crucial times for women and their loved ones, and we want to make the experience as comfortable as possible.
The Neonatal Intensive Care unit at Queen's Hospital is among London's largest and busiest – we care for infants born over 27 weeks gestation, and are dedicated to creating the ideal atmosphere for their growth, development, and well-being.
These monitors allow parents to see and bond with their baby at the same time as the sonographer.
Baby bereavement keyrings have removable hearts to place in baby's hand, whilst the parents keep the other part of the keyring. This gives a tangible connection with the baby they have lost when saying goodbye.
Incubator covers for baby's in NICU are used as a supportive measure to minimise the environmental effects of light and noise for the premature infant.
We renovated the Snowdrop Suite, a special room designed for families to spend time in after experiencing the loss of a baby. The upgrades involved new lighting, a television, and replacing all the furniture, bedding, and kitchen utensils.
We provide the comfort of toys and entertainment for children waiting to be seen in the children's emergency department. We have also funded self 'soothe' boxes which contain distraction toys and games that help alleviate stress, worry and anxiety among our young patients. Each box is filled with plenty of goodies to ensure our patients feel more comfortable.
