A big thank you to Spread a Smile for visiting our children’s wards and providing fantastic entertainment for our youngest patients. We were also grateful to have the Hibberd Family from Hornchurch with us, who generously donated a wonderful selection of toys to the ward. The family experienced the heartbreaking loss of their son Louie, who passed away from a brain tumour at just 12 years old in 2020. Having spent time in our hospitals, they wanted to give back in his memory.
Stuart Hibberd, Louie’s father, shared: “Our family wanted to treat the children and give back to our local hospitals in Louie’s name.”
The children enjoyed a performance by a singing elf and a brilliant magician!
Josephine Segal, Founder of Spread a Smile, said: “Christmas is such a magical time for children, and being in the hospital during this festive season can be very challenging for them and their families. It’s wonderful to bring some joy to the ward, especially during this time. This experience has connected children from various ages and backgrounds, and it’s so heartwarming to see.”
It gave our charity the greatest pleasure to be there with Spread a Smile and the Hibberd family to support this lovely occasion. You truly added smiles to our children’s faces!
