A huge thank you to the lovely members of The Mercury Mall's Breakfast Club, for their donation of a large hamper full of twiddlemuffs for our elderly care wards. Your dedication and effort are very much appreciated!
Twiddlemuffs are cosy knitted or crocheted muffs with items such as ribbons, buttons, beads and various fabrics both inside and out. The colourful knitted creations were presented to our dementia and delirium team at Queen’s Hospital on Monday.
We were delighted to have one of our dementia patients, George Ward, join us for the occasion.
“Our team are very grateful for the time taken to create and deliver the twiddlemuffs to our wards. Twiddlemuffs provide a great source of visual and sensory stimulation for our dementia and delirium patients. This simple measure can have a profound effect on the calmness and engagement of our patients.”
