Join our extended fundraising family
Many NHS organisations and charities need help from volunteers, and we are no exception! Becoming one of our volunteers, means that you are part of our extended fundraising family. There are many ways to get involved and suit you and your commitments – don’t worry there are no contracts necessary! The role is extremely rewarding as you are always making a difference to the lives of staff and patients.
We’re always delighted to hear from people or groups who may have some spare time on their hands to help us. We have various voluntary roles, from helping out at our events, putting your admin skills to great use as you join us in the office or using your people skills to sell goods on our regular stalls. There really is something for everyone and we would welcome your skills as you become part of our Charity Community Team.
As well as helping our hospitals, becoming a volunteer can be an incredibly fulfilling experience. It’s an opportunity to grow new friendships, boost self-esteem, alleviate loneliness and improve employability.
Volunteering for this amazing charity is a fantastic experience. It gives you a sense of belonging to a team while also supporting your local hospitals and community.

Our Charity Ambassadors help us to raise awareness of our charity work and encourage others to get involved in our fundraising activities.
We meet up four times a year to discuss our achievements and ideas for new events. The ambassadors then suggest ways that they can help to promote our work in their own business and social areas. Our Corporate Champions also join us at our ambassadors’ forums. We’re always welcoming new ambassadors, so why not come along to our next ambassadors meeting - we’d love to meet you. We promise there will be lots of tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits!
If you would like to join us, please give us a ring at 01708 774825 or email bhrut.charity@nhs.net
We’re currently looking for enthusiastic volunteers to spend a couple of hours a week introducing patients to RITA (Reminiscence Interactive Therapy Activities), an all-in-one touch screen which offers a blend of entertainment.
The role: focuses on supporting elderly patients to use modern technology to embrace friendship, conversation, and gain support at a time they feel they need it most and are feeling vulnerable.
We believe that the dedication and support of our volunteers will help us to achieve wonderful things and make the experience of our patients the very best it can be.
We have plenty of opportunities, get in touch today to find out more.
