Our Charity team comprises of staff and trustees who all have different roles but share a common goal of making a real impact. We are dedicated to raising funds that can truly make a difference in the lives of patients, staff, and visitors across all our hospitals.
Hi, I'm Lynda and I head up the charity. I'm really proud to lead a team that converts passion into success enhancing the wellbeing of both NHS staff and patients.
I have been the Charity’s Community Fundraiser for several years and I have the best job on the team! I’m responsible for going out in the community, meeting people and showing everyone what an amazing Charity we are. It’s a privilege to go out into the community and tell people about our incredible Charity that does so much for the community. I am always walking around with a smile on my face, so if you do spot me, don’t hesitate to say hello!
Prior to joining the charity, I worked at NELFT in their Training and Development team. Moving across NHS trusts to join the charity was the best decision I ever made. The best thing about working in the charity is that no two days are the same. What I look forward to most is Christmas time, I can’t wait to help the charity spread some Christmas cheer to all the patients.
Hi, I'm Kyra! Promoting and showcasing all the fabulous things we do as a charity is one of my favourite things about working here. It's amazing to be part of a great team and to help and support people in the community who need it the most.
The Charity has a corporate trustee: the Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. The NHS Trust Board devolved responsibility for on-going management of funds to the Charitable Funds Committee that administers the funds on behalf of the corporate trustee.
The Charitable Funds Committee (CFC) includes four external members (one being the Chair) who have been enlisted by the corporate trustee. Members are enlisted to give a good mix of appropriate professional skills e.g. medical, finance, fundraising, marketing, promotion and investment.
Members are required to disclose all relevant interests and register them with the corporate trustee and withdraw from decisions where a conflict of interest arises.
Along with the members attending the Charitable Funds Committee, other members consist of staff representatives (in accordance with the charity’s Terms of Reference), the charitable funds accountant and head of fundraising. The fundraising and administrative staffs are employed by the Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust and their salaries are paid by them.
