Our charity aims to listen to the ideas and concerns of patients and staff, and help turn those whishlists into reality
We are the official charity of Barking, Havering, and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT) and we strive to improve the hospital experience for all. While the NHS provides funding for the necessities, such as medical equipment and patient requirements, our role is to fund projects that elevate the hospital experience for patients, staff, and families. We also recognise the service of our staff by providing additional facilities that allow them to focus on patient care.
We exist to raise money for improvements to care, environments and innovation that wouldn't otherwise happen, making our hospitals better for patients, families and the staff who care for them.
We do not deliver healthcare. We enable it. We raise money, we identify where it will have the greatest impact, and we fund improvements that make a real and lasting difference to patients and the people who care for them.
We are committed to making every pound count. As a charity with finite resources, we must be thoughtful and disciplined about where we invest. Our funding decisions are guided by evidence, by the needs of our communities, and by our responsibility to the people who trust us
Our charity supports the local community by funding projects that benefit everyone. Whether you're a parent-to-be, have a sick child or are dealing with a life-threatening disease, our projects are designed to help you.
Our aim is simple – to make our hospitals better. We have funded life-saving equipment, improved our patient experience, helped sick and injured children through their treatment and ensured friends and family can stay close to their loved ones during a stay in hospital.
We rely on the generosity of our community to make our work possible, and every donation counts. Whether it's a small or large contribution, it can help us enhance patient and staff care. Your support is helping to improve local hospitals and the lives of those who depend on them. Together, we are making our hospitals even better!
Our charitable donations fall into four categories:
We help transform tired, underused spaces into essential healing spaces to help patients and staff take a break from the busy hospital environment. We support our hospitals with tranquil spaces, like our Lavender Garden, giving our patients privacy for life-changing decisions and conversations.
